Surprisingly enough, dragonflies and their relatives have been around up to 252 million years ago!
Fossil records show that one of the species in this group had a wing span of over 30 inches! Around 3012 species of dragonflies exist today and can be found on every continent except Antarctica. This is due to the fact that dragonflies are powerful flies and can fly across oceans. They can move every direction and change in an instant.
